March 3, 2010 – UB DailyTop business leaders in Utah’s manufacturing industry met on Tuesday, March 2 for a Utah Business roundtable discussion where they talked about the issues and trends facing the industry in 2010. Highlights included the challenges and benefits of domestic and international competition, recruiting an educated workforce, and igniting an interest in the state’s youth to pursue manufacturing careers. House Republicans "are pushing a resolution that would block the EPA's regulation of greenhouse gases, throwing a wrench in the Obama administration's attempts to bypass Congress and regulate carbon emissions." According to Politico "the announcement comes as a growing chorus of lawmakers -- mostly Republicans, but some coal state Democrats as well -- have criticized" the EPA finding "that the heat-trapping gases were harmful to the public, paving way for regulation under the Clean Air Act."
Several House minority leaders have introduced a resolution to accomplish the objective.
